Van Aircraft For Sale - Think about what kind of flying you actually do. Is the RV-9/9A a good match? If you're a hard-core aerobatic type, maybe not. But for most of us, the RV-9/9A will do everything we want it to do, and do it at a lower price and a higher "fun quotient" than any competing design. We think this is a great airplane for most pilots.

Van always strives for "total action," the ability to do well in as many things as possible. But all flights are contracts, and it doesn't matter that each one is biased towards a specific "mission".

High speed and "ring-it-out" aerobatics are not important to most pilots. Their daily flights include local flights, cross-country, and occasional long-haul flights. The RV-9/9A is designed to deliver the most in this area. The functionality that this aircraft provides is an everyday item. It's so easy to fly, short-term drives can make a quick and painful change. Its short field performance makes it easy to use the same airports used by other RVs. When it's time for a long cross-country drive, the RV-9/9A will get you there and back as quickly as an RV of the same capacity.

In fact, the RV-9 with tail wheel is the smallest of the RVs currently available. But it's a fun airplane that can take you to fun places!

Hollow size and performance with Hartzel 2 Blade C/S prop. Legal speed and range in mph (sm).

What sets the RV-9/9A apart from other RV designs? In a word, wings. It is longer and narrower than the wings of the RV-4/6/8 series and uses a Roncz airfoil that is unique to this model. The increased size makes it ride better at lower power and longer travel. The flaps are a long-spin, hollow, high shape that allows the aircraft to move slower than many first trainers. A simple fixed horizontal type and a large vertical type are suitable for working with a long section. The solid fuselage and cabin are similar to the RV-7/7A and feature the same sliding/wing canopy and three-gear/tailwheel landing gear options.

The efficient air conditioning of the RV-9/9A does not require much power to perform well. Slow down generally means that a small engine can be pulled to a higher top speed, or, more practically, to a useful cruise speed using less fuel. We demonstrated this when we chose a 118 HP Lycoming (derived from a Cessna 152) to power our design. The result is an efficient aircraft with short-range power, excellent cruise speed (165 mph on 118 hp!), and good fuel economy. But the engine was also modified to accommodate the 160 HP Lycoming O-320. With this kind of power, the RV-9/9A becomes a real performance tiger! Higher speeds and ride rates are available without sacrificing low speed performance or handling.

Like other RVs, you can really start to get the hang of it by moving it. The drink is soft and simple, but not dark or sad. In line with our goal of offering a more "easy" airplane (a magazine writer called it "comfortable") suitable for those who enjoy flying more comfortably, the control forces are stronger than other RVs go and the response rates decrease a little faster. - although it actually looks very sporty for those who carry airplanes. The station is very cold. Everyone who has flown an airplane has commented on low landing speed and low speed control. It's a flight you hope to land: it's so much fun, you want to do it again and again.

Thousands of RV-9 / 9 As have been sold, and sales have increased as more are produced and flown. We think the owners are spreading the word - this is a great plane! Unlike many four-seater airplanes, the RV-10 will allow you to fly with four real, fully-fledged adults on board - spread out and rest in comfort and with plenty of room.

It's a real car: family load, up to a hundred pounds of cargo and a full load of fuel – all while maintaining that great RV length and speed.

Want to get there quickly? Do you need to reduce or decrease? The RV-10 travels close to 200 mph, while providing short-range performance, even at its maximum weight.

The performance, handling and cost of the RV-10 make it the clear choice in the limited field of four-seat kit planes, and also a viable option for four-seat production planes - single or twin.

A four-person plane, not just a four-seater plane. It will carry four FAA standard adults, full fuel and sixty pounds of cargo while at or below the maximum gross weight. The cabin accommodates four full-sized adults. Both the front and rear seats will accommodate a person 6'4" tall and provide very comfortable leg and head room. The driver's seats can be adjusted while sitting in the cabin. Gull-jointed doors that allow residents to enter from both sides.

If your mission involves more than two people, and you like airplanes that perform and handle well, you owe it to yourself to ride in the RV-10.

Your mission: pick up four people, get them to the ground, get there fast and comfortable, look great while doing it. With plenty of room for tricycle gear and a spacious cabin for four, the RV-10 will get you and the family where you want to go quickly and in style.

The RV-10 was designed to fly efficiently on a Lycoming O-540 six-bullet engine, developing 260 hp. In our model, power is provided by a fuel-injected 260 hp Lycoming IO-540.

When most pilots say "performance" they mean "speed". The RV-10 is a fast plane - it will travel under 200 mph - but speed is only part of the story.

The RV-10 gets its high cruising speed from clean, air-driven air rather than a large, powerful engine. This means that cruising at low speeds can be very economical. Company drivers often choose to travel at 50-55% capacity and take advantage of the economy there. At 175 mph, the RV-10 covers more miles per gallon than most luxury cars, trucks and SUVs.

RVs are known for short field capability and the RV-10 is no exception. Even at great weight, the RV-10 can run off very short runways and climb well at high altitudes. At the end of the flight, the generous wing area, large hole flaps and strong metal landing gear allow the RV-10 to land on almost any small airport - grass, gravel or pavement. If you can reach your destination, you can save a lot of time on "fast" flights that must use large fixed airports far from the city.

The safety of residents is an important design feature. The roof rack provides roll-over protection. The interior of the cabin is designed around the Oregon Aero seats and seat cushions, (supplied in equipment) that provide the best available impact reduction - and comfort. Like all other RVs, the RV-10 has surprisingly low parking and landing speeds. If necessary, it can be safely lowered into very small spaces at a speed that gives the occupants the best chance of avoiding injury.

The cargo compartment will accommodate 100 pounds of "stuff" loaded through the left cargo door. If less than four people are traveling, the rear seat can be removed in a few minutes to accommodate additional luggage.

At the time the RV-10 was conceived, the Van aircraft was a two-seat airliner. Over time it has become clear that there is a real market for four-place RVs. If we are honest, the decision to build the RV-10 was a big one, with some serious risks that represented a departure from the existing business footprint and into a new segment. You decide to invest time and effort, and the company is right.

With the mission of transporting four real, original, large adults and a full load of fuel, plus some cargo, the RV-10 was designed with many things in mind learned from previous models. The metal parts of the kit are designed to have a full-hole fit, similar to the RV-7/9 kits already sold. We hope to make math apps even easier to write, and we certainly know that we will eventually provide RV-10 QB apps.

We also know that the part has to be a different shape than before. We have some recent experience with the thick-spar, high-rise wing design in the RV-9/9A. Taking what we know, we have chosen the new airfoil that best meets the set requirements while also ensuring that we meet Van's signature "Total Performance" requirements. This
